Biodegradable General Grade Material

Back to Basics produces and markets a range of renewable plastic compounds which match technical requirements of different applications like extrusion, injection and blowing molding. The purpose of these biodegradable compounds is to improve the properties of pure bioplastic material from the point of view of their transformation and their intrinsic properties.

Biodegradable Materials

Extrusion Grade

Our material can be used in desktop 3D printing with full transparent appearance. It is considered the most environmentally friendly 3D printing material. It can be printed at a low temperature and does not require a heated bed. As a bonus, this also allows the plastic to give off a sweet aroma during printing. Using Dual Nozzle, you can mix and print it with water-soluble materials at the same time. After printing is completed, the water-soluble materials will naturally fade away after a certain period of time.
Drinking straws made by pure PLA material could be very easy to break. Our material allows the drinking straws to be full transparent with better flexibility than pure PLA material. With better processing ability, biodegradable material could be widely used to replace traditional plastic. Not to mentioned, using bioplastic could save more energy comparing to normal plastic production.

Our biodegradable compound material could be used to make thermo-compression smart card like credit card and access control card.

It presents improved rigidity properties and process accessibility of extrusion molding.

Blowing Grade

Made from non GMO starch which reduce our dependence on petroleum resources.

High melt strength & excellent process ability on conventional LDPE blown film lines. Typical thicknesses is15-120 µm.

It could be mixed with biodegradable color master batch, and it brings excellent printing quality without pre-corona treatment.

Injection Grade

2 very common types of BB materials are available to airsoft players, non-biodegradable airsoft BBs and biodegradable airsoft BBs.

Non-biodegradable airsoft BBs are usually made from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) which are the cheapest options.

However, ABS material is not biodegradable, which means that they will literally be in the ground where they fall for a long time.

Because of this, many outdoor airsoft fields do not allow players to use these non-biodegradable airsoft BBs.

Our material is 100% biodegradable that could be used to make biodegradable airsoft BBs (a.k.a “bios”). Biodegradable airsoft BBs are environmentally friendly, are more water soluble than ABS BBs, and break down into water and carbon dioxide in about 47 to 90 days in industrial recycling facilities or a bit longer under the right environmental conditions outdoors. Most outdoor airsoft fields require players to us these types of biodegradable airsoft BBs.

Striped dice and suited poker chips are the two most common forms of chips, and they are usually made by ABS plastic or clay material.

Our material is 100% biodegradable, and it could be an alternative to above material in an effort to prevent the inevitable deterioration of clay chips.

With its high impact strength, it provides a more durable solution for the millions of players that would hold, pocket, flip or even pot splash that poker chip.

In order to achieve the reduction target of marine plastic waste, the European Commission (European Commission) announced on March 27, 2019 that it in 2025, 30% of PET bottles must be made of 25% recycled plastics. By 2030, 30% of recycled plastics must be used.

Using biodegradable material could decrease the use of plastic.

Great properties performance makes the material easy to proceed with injection machine.

Our material is with anti-bacteria effect with perfect impact strength for making dental floss stick.

Color could be customized. We use 100% biodegradable color masterbatch.

Melt-Blown Grade

We provide a thermoplastic fiber-grade resin derived from annually renewable resources. Available in lubricated pellet form, it is designed for meltblown products using conventional as well as high pressure die meltblown equipment. Our material can be converted into a broad range of fiber products. It can also be used on meltblown equipment with high pressure die systems providing a broader processing window. Melt temperature can be used to reduce melt viscosity and provide adequate pressures on conventional meltblown systems.

Biodegradable Impact Modifier

In plastic industry, people use impact modifier to achieve better properties performance. Impact modifiers used to improve the impact performance of engineering plastics, such as polyesters, polyamides and polycarbonate blends. They provide an excellent balance of impact resistance, modulus and viscosity with an extraordinary good retention of heat distortion temperatures. Bio-plastic, however, has inferior properties than normal plastic including the impact strength & flexure modulus, which make it indispensable to use the impact modifier during the production. Furthermore, it could be difficult to well blend different bioplastic. For example, normally, PLA (Polylactic Acid) is not compatible with PBS, PBAT & other filler like cornstarch. In this case, our impact modifier could also work as compatibilizer between different materials.

Plant Fiber Reinforced Material

Rice is the staple in many countries, and the annual production capacity of rice is very huge around the world while burning waste rice husk has caused serious air pollution. Aquaculture is a well-developed industry in Taiwan. Oyster is the major products of aquaculture in the west of Taiwan, and it yield 160 thousand tons of waste oyster shell every year which is a serious pollution source. BACK TO BASICS recycled these waste materials, and turn them into valuable material. We follow our faith to be zero waste & environmentally friendly. Recycle: We collect waste natural resources like rice husk & oyster shell. Reuse: We combine the rice husk powder & oyster shell powder with PP or biodegradable material, and we make them into 2 grades: extrusion & injection. Reduce: Using plant fiber could significantly reduce the carbon emission during the productions, which is no doubt a key action toward our goal of being environmentally friendly.
